As the largest city in Canada, there isn't much Toronto doesn't have to offer the tourist looking for an exciting city getaway.
Culturally, Toronto is home to the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the National Ballet. Toronto is also Broadway north, featuring a number of locally produced and touring large scale musical productions that are sure to please anyone.
For the sporting fan, Toronto is home to the NHL's Maple Leafs, Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays and the CFL's Toronto Argonauts. Toronto also has a number of minor league sporting teams to take in. Don't forget to check out the Hockey Hall of Fame, located in Toronto's exciting downtown area.
Toronto's nightlife is second to none featuring nightclubs of all sorts and dining in every culture imaginable. Naturally beautiful as well, Toronto is also just a short drive the eighth wonder of the world, Niagara Falls. You name it and Toronto can offer it. Ontario Hotels Visitors to Ontario will find a range of accommodations: budget to deluxe hotels, inns, bed-and-breakfasts and guest farms. Expect major motel chains around southern Ontario, with a wide range of privately run motels, inns and cottages in more remote areas along the Great Lakes. The lodgings at guest farms range from country homes to working farms that invite guests to be a part of it all (including helping with farm chores). Owners often speak more than one language. Communities close to the Quebec border see more French visitors, so French is often heard. But don't be surprised to find pocket communities of German- or Italian-speaking Canadians.... Those who want to enjoy the outdoors can rent a cabin on one of Ontario's many, many lakes, fly in to remote fishing and hunting camps and lodges or choose a lakeside resort with luxury suites and gourmet dining. Scattered around the province are historic inns, often known locally for their dining rooms. Some resorts and lodges operate seasonally, so book well in advance. Niagara Falls offers—yes, that's right—tacky honeymoon hotels with heart-shaped bathtubs but also everything from budget motels to five-star hotels, some with views of the falls. Visitors wanting a choice of historic or country inns should try Niagara-on-the-Lake, less than a half-hour away. The centrally located Mowat Inn is a reasonably priced choice within walking distance of the Shaw Festival, museums and shops. They also have a terrific pub and restaurant on-site.
